The Bago Jazz is a group of friends lovers of music , musicians professionals working in the scenario of music popular Brazilian, who decided to enter the body and soul in the world of music instrumental influenced by Jazz, MPB and every aspect of the music world instrumental. With a schedule of concerts from Tuesdays to Fridays in the city of Salvador, Bago de Jazz has been growing in popularity and increasingly pleasing the audience present in the presentations due to the subtlety and dynamics in the execution of the themes.
Bago has an authorial repertoire influenced by different matrixes: African, European, American, Cuban, Brazilian etc , which is mixed with great world standards. The name Bago actually comes from the jackfruit berry, a wonderful fruit that should be enjoyed berry by berry, as well as jazz, which should be understood as a whole little by little, that is, "berry" for "berry." Thus was born the Bago de Jazz! The Bago de Jazz quartet is composed by Levy Maia (sax and flute), Alan Moraes (bass), Luciano Pinto (electric piano) and Marcio Wesley (drums), who present songs that marked the instrumental universe with classics of American jazz and music. bossa jazz, as well as copyright music. Our early training included master Nivaldo Cerqueira on the sax, who had suffered a massive heart attack in 2019, says Márcio.
On April 15 of this year, he released a live and organic digital album. The recording was during one of the lives the group has been doing in the garage. “This type of recording helps to perpetuate the emotions and improvisations of the moment. We believe that this is much more contagious to the public that prefers the truth even if there is some imperfection there," the musicians say.
Currently, they are considered a reference, not only in the municipality of Lauro de Freitas, but also in the Metropolitan Region of Salvador. In 2016 the first album was released, entitled “Alegria”, with seven copyrighted songs. It was well accepted by critics and audiences, with about 10 thousand records sold at concerts and festivals and was also featured on Rádio Educadora FM (Salvador), being shown twice on the program “Especial das Seis” and in the United States, in the city of New Orleans.
