André Luiz Piva de Carvalho was born in Presidente Prudente-SP. During his life he has already lived in several cities in the country, but some time ago he settled in Paraíba, more precisely in the capital João Pessoa. On September 27, 2014, he was honored along with other academics during a ceremony held at the João Pessoa City Council where he received the honor of the title of citizen of Pessoa for his contribution to tourism and culture in the municipality. The date coincides with the celebration of the day of tourism, created by the UNWTO (World Tourism Organization) since 1979. Now he is receiving the title of Citizen of Paraíba by the Government of the State of Paraíba.

André was also the creator of the tourism course at the Federal University of Paraíba. Doctor in Culture and Society, in 2013 Professor Piva, as he is known, created the extension program “Paraíba Criativa: Paraíba Culture in the World of the Creative Economy”, which is considered the largest culture project in our country, having more than one million views on its electronic portal.

André Piva is currently strengthening the project to create the Academia Ipitanguense de Artes, Cultura e História, based in Lauro de Freitas/Ba, further strengthening the partnership with Bahia, which he promises to visit in January/2023, without leaving aside Paraíba Creative with several innovations to come; in addition to participating in numerous events such as exhibitions, meetings, lectures, congresses, conferences, seminars inside and outside Paraíba. Thinking about the importance of expanding the population's knowledge of the local culture, André Piva was the great supporter of the creation of the Lauracriativa Project, started by partners Cláudia Pituba and Peri Rudá.
