Mestre Lindão together with his deceased friend Abelardo. they were responsible for the beginning of the masked people's games (70 years ago), also known as the grimaces. At carnival they left masked as Pierrot, which is the complete costume, made up of a colorful jumpsuit with bells, fillets and a mask with cone-shaped horns, colored with sparkles. My grandmother said that they were noticed from afar because they had the bells (small bells) that were attached to their clothes and were identified from a distance by the noise.

In view of this demonstration, Artemio organized two workshops on handmade masks, with the donation of masks to the community, which greatly encouraged the demonstration. We have the collaboration of many people and we have approximately 600 faces in various neighborhoods in the city, especially in the Center and Vila Praiana, but also in Itinga, Portão and even Vilas do Atlântico.

It is an effort to make the costumes of the Pierrots, the masks, but those who like it enjoy the fun normally reserved for the Carnival period, entertaining the children, strengthening our entire culture of Lauro de Freitas.
