Cultural journalist with an MBA in Communication and Semiotics (signs in artistic language) and a degree in History. Cultural producer, musician and digital writer with five e-books released on the Amazon kindle digital platform, linked to communication, journalism, photojournalism and poetry.


With his cultural career based on diversified musical productions with several student festivals and tributes/shows aimed at the Laurofreitense public,  such as  Luiz Gonzaga o Rei do Baião, Renato Russo, Cazuza, Rock Brasil 80s, Barbas de Molho show (featuring songs that were cesared at the time of the military regime); the Student Music Festival of Lauro de Freitas (five editions), Festival Talentos da Terra (six editions), Mostra Jazz Lauro (two editions); Jazz at Estação da Lapa, Salvador (two years, a weekly and collective production carried out alongside the musicians of the Bago de Jazz quartet, paralyzed because of the pandemic.


In journalism, more than 20 years have been dedicated to cultural agendas; interviewing art agitators and leaders of different languages that were published in newspapers, magazines, blogs, portals, radios, TV stations and TVWEB in his hometown, Lauro de Freitas, Bahia. His blog www.blogdomarciowesley.com.br is a reference in the municipality, with guidelines linked to the cultural universe and always with exclusive interviews.


He is currently in the Bago de Jazz quartet, one of the active groups in the Soteropolitan instrumental scene. The group has three albums recorded (available on major digital platforms).


It also marks the cultural scene of Lauro de Freitas as part of the Trio Instrumental together with saxophonist Cassiano Faleta and guitarist André Jordão.


In a heated movement in partnership with Laurocriativa, he held the IV Mostra de Jazz Lauro and the Sarau du Chefão at the end of 2021, still under the impact of the covid-21 pandemic, then integrating the Sarau do Quintal held by the Instituto Amantes do Conhecimento, Laurocriativa, Trio Instrumental and Empório J4, currently in full operation (03/3022).


Márcio Weslei, very touched by the recent loss of his brother “Duzinho Nery”, joined his brother Alan Nery to produce Duzinho’s great project, “A Paixão de Cristo”, a public staging, which originated in the Holy Week of 1999 with support from the Parish of Santo Amaro do Ipitanga.


It is also worth mentioning that the Journalist is a member of the Academia de Letras e Artes de Lauro de Freitas for all his personal production and contribution to the local culture of the city of Lauro de Freitas.

His Brazilian musicality and bold interpretations won, in addition to a loyal audience, the praise of critics. As an interpreter, Erick worked with the groups Cesta Básica (PB), Mercedes Band (CE) and Grupo Etc and Tal (AL), already with the groups Sine Qua Non (PB) and Zaraquê Trio (RN) recorded albums where he also acted as composer.
